When Are The Nba Playoffs

 Finally, the NBA Conference Finals are here and the teams are ready to fight for the right to represent their conference at the NBA Finals in late September. Professional basketball is on its way back after it was announced last week that operations will resume this summer and the 2020 NBA season will be over. The restart to the 2019 NBA regular season - 20, in which five or six games are played on a single day and no teams compete - will also be the restart to the 2020-21 regular season, according to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. 

    

The 2020 NBA Finals will be broadcast exclusively by ABC and will be broadcast on ABC Sports 1, ESPN2 And ESPN3. In addition, the 2020 Eastern Conference finals will be broadcast exclusively by ESPN and ABC will broadcast the 2019-20 Western Conference finals exclusively on ESPN.

The Lakers and James will appear in the 2019-20 NBA Finals, which will be broadcast by ABC on ABC Sports 1. ESPN2 And ESPN3 for the first time ever. ESPN and ABC have teamed up to broadcast two NBA playoffs on television - in games in each of the last three seasons, with the exception of the Eastern Conference Finals last year. ABC and Disney Channel, ABC & ESPN have teamed up to broadcast 44 NBA playoff games and broadcasts, including 18 first-round games.

Let's rethink some of the ideas that have been put forward about how the game could be played - after - if we were to return to an NBA season. 

    

Despite the many challenges involved in playing before the NBA playoffs, I believe this idea could work quite well logistically and financially. Avoiding the need for the NFL to compete in the NBA playoffs and utilizing a massive crowd on Christmas Day will allow the NBA to make more money. Equally, it could be a while before the Spurs can resume their role as the annual playoff contender. But given the plight of the NBA's Western Conference, the postseason could be part of the league's new normal for them. 

    

But at this point, there is only one thing left to watch the 2020 NBA playoffs and see who can prevail. I expect them to be absolutely thrilling, even if the circumstances will limit the games to one place and the fans present.  

    

I would like the NBA to possibly cut the season down to 56-62 games, but I'm not sure it's time to eliminate the conferences and send the top 16 teams to the playoffs with an optimized game plan. 

The top three contenders for the NBA Finals are the Milwaukee Bucks, followed by the Lakers and the Clippers. It is likely that one or two of them will play in the playoffs in 2019 with the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and New York Knicks. But anything is possible, especially if they can play together for a championship from the 2019 postseason. 

The Lakers will face Miami and Boston in the first round of the 2019 NBA playoffs, while the Knicks will face the New York Knicks. If history holds, only one team with the magic number of 23 wins will win the NBA title this season. But if the Toronto Raptors win, there's a good chance the team's magic season numbers will be 23 and the Lakers 22. 

    

The ideal aspect to consider is that the Bucks, Lakers, Raptors and Celtics have already reached playoff places, so I think it would be unfair to place them in a play-off - in a game where they have already booked their tickets. These teams would meet in the first round, where the strongest team from each side would need just one win to secure their position for the 2020 NBA playoffs, while the bottom team would need to win two games in a row to secure that spot. 

The NBA playoff game - in the scenario it's a great idea and it works in a bubble, but my understanding is that it could also be a viable option for the 2019-20 NBA season, which continues on March 1, 2019, just weeks before the start of the 2018-19 season. After last year's NBA All-Star Game, there may be a chance for a new postseason approach that includes a game that leads straight into the NBA playoffs.
